A detailed look at our new relationship
Our Story
We were a two-man operation: a graphic artist and a web developer. Everyone said that for the sites we wanted to create, we really needed to get our own server and spend the time to manage it. But to us, that was as crazy as saying that to sell t-shirts online, we had to spend our time driving a Mack truck doing the deliveries. There had to be a better way to host our projects. Right?
Because we're a customer of Rackspace Managed Hosting, we've had the benefit of building Lis Hosting on some of the most robust and reliable infrastructure in the world. You can only guarantee the uptime of a server if the network and datacenters you're using are world-class. In our case, we're only able to offer the aggressive SLAs that we do because we're using Rackspace's Superstructure.
It Starts with the Datacenter
The first piece of the Superstructure platform is the datacenter. Rackspace data centers are known as being the best in the business. They're owned and operated by Rackspace and have redundancy in all the critical systems (like power systems, HVAC systems, etc.) They're built for exceptional uptime and are all SAS-70 compliant.
Add in a Zero-Downtime Network
Next up the Superstructure stack is Rackspace's Zero Downtime Network. Rackspace continually ranks at the top of all infrastructure companies for uptime with a network that hasn't been down for even a second over the last 4 years. The network is engineered to ensure that packets of information are delivered to customers in the fastest way possible. They accomplish this using a variety of best-of-breed technologies as well as some proprietary tools they've developed themselves. In fact, the reason Mosso can offer such an aggressive SLA is because Rackspace itself does - 100% network availability.
